When you spell "Season's Greetings", is it properly spelled season's, seasons or seasons'? I have seen all three, and there are reasons for all of them being right, but I want to know which you is grammatically correct.

The only one that is correct is " Season's Greetings." You are only referring to one season, the winter/Xmas/holiday season; so therefore "Seasons' " would be incorrect. The greetings belong to the season, so you need the possessive (with the apostrophe) and not the plural "seasons."

p.s. Steve, winter begins Dec 21st, which is before Xmas.

I think it would be season's greetings since you are talking about this particular season and not all seasons. If you were extending greetings for more than one season, then it would be seasons' greetings.

It depends on the usage. Its become shorthand so we are never quite sure. If you are talking about the greetings of this season ( ownership) it is Season's. If you are talking about the collection of greetings (plural) it is seasons if you are talking about the ownership of all the greetings of all the seasons it is seasons'
