I'm thinking aobut getting a new truck and I kind of need help. I found one I really want a 1994 chevy silverado 350 with the stepside bed the only problem is that my father and I have been thinking about going into business together and I will need a truck to tow like 2 or 3 cars at a time Does any one think this car will tow 2 or 3 cars plus a trailer? If you don't think it will tow it what kind of a truck would you recomend? I tried towing my 1972 chevelle with my old v6 dodge dakota that was a pos and got 500 miles and threw a rod and blew the tranny and I would like very much to avoid doing this with a new truck I hope someone can help

That engine in that truck can tow that much...but the rest of the truck most likely cannot...especially if it's a halfton. you will probably need a gooseneck to tow a car hauler...and if that's your main need then i would look into a big block (454) engine in a chevy or gmc truck. you are right to be looking at chevys, they are the best quality pickup from that time, and now. But yes, that 350 is capable of towing that much just by itself, but the rest of the truck probably cannot, especially since it's a stepside.

If it's a half ton truck, it won't tow that much load for very long. Go find something with a 454, or better yet, a diesel engine. I'd look for something newer if you'll be doing much towing, too. A 12 year old truck will have some problems already, and won't last long if you're working it hard by towing all the time. A 1 ton truck or better, with 5th wheel towing setup would work well for what you want, I think.
