If you are old enough to vote, you are old enough to run for office. There is an age limit for the office of President of the United States, but no such limitation for local mayors.

Depends on the town. I know there are some city positions in communities that are open to 17 yo. Seems like you read a story every year about some kid who is running for an office. The path I see many people take is get involved in community and getting on various boards for a few years. Paying dues so to speak.

I hope you know what it is that the mayor is supposed to be doing. The election process may be a popularity contest, but afterwards, you'll have to do a mayor's job.

You have to be 18. There was student in my kids Hugh school that ran for city counsel while still IN high school and he won.

If you know exactly what you want to do when you got in office, sure, there's nothing against you. ONLY that people might be looking for someone with a bit more experience. GOOD LUCK!!!
