I don't make them. I don't need a special day of the year to change bad habbits.

I have only made one New Year's Resolution that I was able to keep. That was to make no more New Year's Resolutions. Sounds a bit sarcastic - but honestly - it has turned into something good. I no longer wait until the New Year to make changes. If I think I need to make changes - I just dig in right there and start on them. Might not work for everyone (some people need that fresh start feeling) - but it works great for me.

This year for 2006, my resolution was to spend more time volunteering. I have.
Last year, 2005, I resolved to take control of my life, and not allow circumstances to rule over me. I have accomplished that.
For 2007, I am going to resolve (again) to loose more wieght. It's was a resolution in 2004, and I did loose 20 lbs that year...but 10 snuck back on. So, I have to try again. I will resolve to loose 30lbs in 2007.

better grades
I am a freshmen in college and my first semester has been awful I'm just trying to pass everything. I need to do alot better read the text books and work harder.
I also want to become a great coxswain for my crew team
I just started about 3 months ago, i have the basics and i want to get better not for myself but for the team.
(my old ones used to be dumb things like to get a cute boyfriend but that was high school I got one and it was really nothing worth making a goal about. i really want to do better in school now that i am recognizing the more important things in life.)

1)To acutally use all my Christmas presents.
2)To burn candles daily to prevent burn out.
3) To clean out the closets and pass on the things I don't need, and can't wear.
4) Duh - the classic - to loose some more weight. I did good on this one this year need to maintain and maybe trim a little extra off next year
A little explanation on 1 and 2 ...........
I've got pretty little soaps, bottles and salts along my vanity. I've got candles on my windowsill in the kitchen. I'm going to dust them off and use them. And use all I'm given for Christmas too. They were meant to be enjoyed not saved.
Also I'm going to burn a candle every day as a gift to myself. I've got some really good smelling ones (my fave is Old Virgina - it even beats Yankee)
I think doing these simple things for myself will lift my spirits as I'm doing something for me. Then I'll feel less stressed and be more patient with the baby boys who inhabit my house, and my co-workers too.

I feel as though if I have to wait until the new year to make myself change something I don't like or want to improve on, than I am not that serious about doing. Seems more like procrastination.
