I think this is an interesting question. But I think all sexuality is a learned trait. There is so much emphasis, for example, on keeping our children away from graphic images of adult oriented material. Why do you think that is? Is it by chance that we're afraid that such images might influence their behavior?

Another point is that many pedophiles believe they were born with their sexual attraction and yet for some darn reason' we just won't accept that as a viable reason to be involved with children. Again, why? Pedophiles believe they love their victims too, but, we do have scientific proof linking their sexuality to their childhood - i.e. they were victimized as well. They learned it.

Freud also suggested that many of our sexual desires now are direct results of traumatic experiences we had as children. You can look at many different fetishes, fantasies, desires, etc. and their have been studies linking childhood experiences to the way people engage in sexual activities. This again suggest a learned trait.

On the flip side, however, I know their was a study done once that suggested homosexuals either had a gene or lacked a gene that heterosexuals didn't share in the DNA structures of people studied. In this situation, it implies that homosexuality is a train born through birth.

To be honest, I'm highly torn on this particular issue, because I have had friends that are homosexual and very decent folks. I've never felt threatened, influenced or pressured by a homosexual but comming from a Catholic background I have a strong sense of what is considered moral.

Do you realize that this question has been asked about a million times on here? Are you trying to incite a riot? The fact is gay people will tell you they were born that way because they are in denial about their choice. They don’t want to take responsibility for society not accepting them. It’s the same as a fat person blaming McDonalds or burger King for being fat! They chose to eat the food but it's not their fault? It is a crock of s.h.i.t.

The bible says that we are created in God image. God is not, never has been and never will be gay. Again, they just want an excuse to blame their behavior on.

I am bi, I enjoy sex with men and women, and it is a choice. I was not Bone this way. I love eating kitty kitty and I love c.o.c.k. in side me. It is wrong I know, but it is a CHOICE I make.

There is NO PROOF that people are born gay and they have been looking for it for years.

The church is poisoning you with this "Born Gay Crap". The decision to be yourself is something that a gay person is challenged to do despite a world of hate and negativity. Being gay is something a person discovers about themselves. Usually a gay person, once realizing that he is different, can look way back to early childhood and see that he was gay all along.

Some church genius came along and decided that our very personal gay lives was a choice... Who cares?!!! It is not my job to continuously defend this "Born Gay- Gay is a Choice Debate" It is a total non-issue. Born gay or not, who the $*@& cares? The misconception is that our very personal lives are up for scrutiny.

Who ever started this "Born Gay- Gay is a Choce Debate", has you wasting your precious time and energy---and MINE!!

I'm not gay, but I believe a vast majority of those who are were born gay.

I knew a lesbian couple once who said they were both straight and had been married and had children, but their relationships turned bad and they were both victims of domestic violence. The found each other in therapy and started a relationship. They were two of the happiest women I've ever met. They chose their lifestyle.

I guess the point is, I believe that more gay people are born that way then choose the lifestyle.

Too many people ask this SAME question over and over... I believe a person is born that way. I didn't one day choose to be this way, I've always felt this way about the same sex.

its a 50-50 in my eyes, god created each and every person he knows are thoughts and futures meaning he knew what lifestyle we would want to live, and if im goin to hell for being a lesiban its not my fault he created me. on the other hand though some people go through some tough things and choose to be with the same sex because they feel comfortable

Were you born straight or did you choose to be straight? Do you need any scientific proof to prove that you are straight? I am not heterophobic or straight I just wanna know because I feel for them since most of my friends are straight.
