I do not believe in credit cards. I pay by cash (debit card) only. If I can't afford something straight out I have no business in buying it.
I do have a credit card for emergency. Once in a while I have used it just to keep a record of a purchase but I immediately go home and electronicaly pay it off.

Live life on plastic. Credit cards, charge cards, debit cards are way better than cash. Cash is inconvenient because of loose change. America screwed up by having the penny. The govt looses so much money because people throw away loose change. A card transactions are good ways to monitor your spending and keep a paper trail without collecting receipts. I personally hate using cash because of the arbitrary pricing on products and services. Why would something be $0.99 cents instead of a dollar? Thats just 3 quarter, a dime, a nickel, and four pennies lost. Most people only bother to save the quarters, and the rest gets lost. Nothing automated even bothers to accept pennies, and minting a penny costs more in material than the face value. Anyway, cash is only used for tips, charity, and drug deals. Its because pocket change is considered worthless that these customs have been integrated in our economy.

It depends on the purchase. If I want to purchase something online, which I rarely do, I use them. Also for big purchases, because it's not good to have huge wads of cash on you. But the balance is always paid at the end of the month, so sometimes we save if we plan to make a big purchase on credit. Credit cards are great for things like that and traveling too, but people have to realize that it must be paid back and with interest. It's not free money. When responsibly used, they can be a great tool- especially for building credit up!

I use one credit card for everything and pay it off with a check completely every month to get frequent flier miles. I have used these miles to visit south South America 4 times. Of course, I pay $50 a year for this but it's well worth it.

Credit card, always. To me, it is safer and more convenient than cash. We always pay the full balance off each month, so, no debt. Not spending above your means is the key to not getting into debt.

I've heard sometimes the change can add up, but methinks keeping track might be hard with a credit card after awhile. Or you might push it to the limit, then not be able to repay the added late fee.

cash for me. after seeing what credit cards did to my aunt and uncle, im quite reluctant. but i may look into those debit cards. altho in my country im not sure that the usage is widespread yet, and thus not many shops/biz offer that form of payment.
