my birthday is on christmas day

I celebrate at home alone with my cats. I do not have any family. If the weather is O.K. and I get an invitation to a friend's house, I go sometimes (like I said, weather permitting). Some friends live in towns very far from where I live. Since I work two jobs, Christmas is a day that I have off and don't mind staying home. I am thankful for what I have and don't want gifts from other people. I prefer that they donate to a charity rather than buy me a gift I neither want, need or will ever use.

I try to get a collection of food and toys together to drop off at the Salvation Army so that those less fortunate may not be forgotten in this greatest time of need.

Christmas morning we get up super early if any of us can even sleep! lol We all open up our stockings...and no matter what age we are we still have ear to ear smiles and immense joy in our hearts. After that we make a huge breakfast and sit and laugh telling stories while we eat. We open up a few gifts and then we all get ready for the day.

We make our way to the house of whom ever relative is having the big family celebration that year. This year it's a 4 hour trip but it's all worth it. Being around my family and feeling that special bond and love we all have for each other. Knowing we are so truly blessed. We have a big turkey/ham dinner and then we all sit together and sing christmas songs celebrating the joy of Christ and the gifts that God blesses our lives with not just at christmas but everyday.

This year I'll be even more thankful because I'm back home after being away for two years. There will be tears, this I know....and I can't wait.

God Bless
Merry Christmas to all and to all heavens love.

I celebrate Christmas with a Tree and give and receive gifts from my family. However, since my husband and I are not religious, we think of it as the celebration of another year ending, and contemplate on how lucky we are. Christmas day we either work part of the day in the Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, or some other form of helping the needy. Last year we helped the Marine Corp deliver Toys for Tots.

I celebrate christmas with my family. During this wonderful time, I'm happy just to have my family with me on Christmas day. I love this time of year because it makes me happy to see everyone else happy, and the amount of gifts we get is awsome!

Could I instead tell you how I wished I'd spend Christmas?

My family (and I'm talking aunts, uncles, cousins, usually amounts to around 25 people including their noisy, screaming brat kids) all get together. Me, my mom, and my favorite aunt get to do all the cooking and preparation. The other family members come for approx. 1 hour, no more than 2 hours, make their appearances, eat our food, collect their gifts (which they don't deserve), and leave to go wreak havoc elsewhere. Then we are left to clean up.

I wish I could just spend Christmas with my mom, dad, brother, grandma, aunt and cousin. We could eat a nice big meal and then go take naps all afternoon and then play with our gifts and just hang out.

It's more of a hassle now that I am older. I do like Christmas, just wish it was a little more peaceful, ya know?

My husband and I celebrate Christmas Eve with just us, our 4 kids and this year my oldest daughter's boyfriend. We eat great food all day and listen to Christmas music and then open our gifts at around 7:00.
Christmas Day we either go to my in-laws or they come to our house (we haven't decided which this year - I'd like to do it at our house this year because last year they served pizza...not terribly impressed) and exchange gifts.

For me, it's a mix of Hanukkah and Christmas. I'm Jewish by choice (I converted about 10 years ago), but my parents and sister are still Christian. I go to their homes simply to be with them, but I light my menorah during the 8 days of Hanukkah.
