I was looking into the Urals when I started seeing info on the Dnepr. Anyone own one?

Not much Difference between URAL/ IMZ and Dnepr except that the machine work on the Dnepr is supposedly higher quality since they are independantly produced in Ukraine. These bikes were all built on the captured machinery of the BMW motorcyle after WWII, so the design and engineering are solid and proven. The Russians raided the factory and reverse engineered the cycles for military use. Check out the Chinese Chang Jiang- same bike. The two wheel drive sidecar rig caught my eye since I live ina climate that gets a lot of snow and I have always wanted to ride in winter. Do a search for the BMW R71 and compare the pics. I am not sure if BMW parts are compatible or not, nor can I confirm that the Dnep is of superior manufacturing quality. The Chang Jiang, Dnepr, Ural/IMZ, and BMW R71 are essentially the same machine and has a wide range of prices. I did not buy the Dnepr only because I was caught up in a ton of other projects (old BMW's), but I really wanted a retro looking sidecar rig that was of military grade quality. Hope this helps and good luck!
