No offense everyone, I have a feeling he's not going to Vegas to see the light show on Freemont St., watch the fountain at the Bellagio or to see the volcano erupt at the Mirage. Buffet's Roller Costers or Pirate ships neither. Those are all cool things , but not destinations, just eye candy along the way.

Here's the plan for an active, red blooded male out on the town in Vegas (And no i'm not talking about hookers here)

The Casinos, shopping and attractions on the strip are cool, but to gamble......

Poker-Downtown at Binion's Horseshoe (that's where most of the T.V. poker tourney's are held)

Craps-The Gold Coast (off the strip, near the Rio) Has $2 tables, so that when your cash is tied up on the table and the roller 7's out, you will only lose $50, not $200.

Let It Ride-A great game you can play anywhere. Take 5 minutes to ask the dealer the rules of this mdified poker table game. You will have fun playing it I pomise. (anywhere is fine, they have at leats 1 or 2 Let it Ride tables in each Casino)

Bars-Hard Rock (not the cafe, lol, the casino hotel) #1 bar for getting the feel of the city. It's where the people who make Vegas great go to party themselves. Highly recommended.

Tao-at the Venetian-Great Pan Asian atmosphere, excellent cocktails. Grab a couch at the bar area and just hang out.

Red Square-Mandalay Bay Vodka Bar with Ice top Bar to keep your vodka chilled. Over 200 Vodkas available and a greta place to stop for a nice martini or shots for 30 min to an hour.

Arturo Fuente-at Caesar's-Chill with a nice Fuente Opus X cigar and a Cognac or Single Malt Scotch

Dinner-Nobu at the Hard Rock-Don't order regular sushi, order a bunch their signature cold and hot appetizer plates. Yellowtail Tartar, Tuna Tataki, w/ Ponzu sauce, Miso Cod, chilean sea bass w/ black bean sauce. Have a nice cold sake to wash it down.

If you want something at 1/3 of the price without sacrificing anything but an 8 minute taxi ride, I recommend off strip on Tropicana the Pasta Shop and Ristorante. When you make reservations, talk to Glen or David and tell them Ben from Monroe New York sent you (I was just there last Monday night and had a nice conversation with them). They are a Chef Maitre D' team (brothers) that run a 27 Zagat rated for food, 8 table Italian Restaurant where the food will knock your socks off. So good, and the prices are amazing. The way I found it was by Zagat guide and because of the high rating I decided to try. I will never go back to Vegas without stopping there. It is on the permanent "list".

Gentlemen's Club-Spearmint Rhino hands down end of discussion. Do not let the cab drivers suggest another place. The Rhino doesn't give the drivers good kickbacks for bringing in customers because they don't need to. Traffic is brisk no matter what. If you like this kind of thing then go. I am very picky about these places and I actually would go back anythime.

Shiatsu Massage-If you want 100 pound asian women to walk on your back and just get a nice 1 hour relaxing table massage, there are many places on the 3900 Block of Spring Mountain rd. (called Chinatown). If you don't like Shiatsue, these masseuses do Swedish style as well with no walking on back.

Dance Clubs-I am no expert but I was just at Jet in the Mirage and it was very cool. Tip-go to the bell desk and ask the bellhop for a ticket to the club. It's a $30 ticket and they have them to give out. If you don't, you will have to pay the $30. Throw the guy a $10 for being cool.:-) You don't need a VIP card, but expect to wait a 1/2 hour or so on line have a drink in hand from one oft he other hotel bars so you don't get bored on line.

Trust me, this info is not sold in stores and is 100% good. When you get back, please let me know if I am full or bull or if I speak the truth. You can email me if you want.

Best of luck and enjoy your trip!

Fremont Street Experience
The best FREE show downtown. Located high above the pedestrian mall in downtown Las Vegas, this canopy consists of over 2 million lights. This light & sound show, which changes periodically, can be seen over head and heard in stereo surround sound every hour on the hour beginning at dusk. The last show is at 11pm on Sun-Thurs and 12 am Fri & Sat. During the break between shows, wander the promenade and do some shopping from the kiosks or sit and do some people watching in the shade of a palm. The many hotels, casinos, and stores which open onto the Fremont Street Experience can keep you busy all night. Entertainment on 2 stages set up in the mall on various weekends and holidays also add to the excitement of Downtown Las Vegas. FREE admission. (800) 249-3559.

Volcano at the Mirage
In front of the Mirage Hotel & Casino you will find a peaceful dormant-looking volcano. But after 6pm each evening, this volcano blows its top in a show-stopping eruption. Over 54 feet tall, the lava flows freely down the sides of the volcano into pools of water and fire, surrounded by gorgeous waterfalls and tropical floral life. It continues to erupt every 15 minutes until 12am. Adm: FREE. 702-791-7111.

I'd say Las Vegas would be an amazing 21 birthday place because then you'd actually be able to drink and club (legally) and not get in trouble. You can't go and play at the casino's (that I know of) until you are 21 of age. It still will be amazing though-the lights and sights and sounds and everything! Have super fun!! And be carefull and don't get drugs or take drinks from stranger lol (the hangover...)

You have to plan. I'll be in Vegas next weekend as well. In order to get into the clubs, you need a VIP card, if you don't want to wait in lines. The best poker tourneys are at the Wynn and Bellagio, check out their websites. The best spa is at the Paris. Oh and the discount shopping is fantastic!

The last time my wife and I went to Vegas we decided to venture a little off the strip for dinner and found this wonderful restaurant called The Tillerman.
