I was about 5 and my parents made me sit down and watch a NOVA special on PBS I think called the miracel of life or something which covered EVERYthing. My mom is a maternity nurse so that helped too. The of course there was the Little Orphan Annie special that all the girls had to watch in fifth grade that taught us about being a woman, and then good ol' sex ed taught by the creepy gym teacher in 11th grade.

Well, I grew up on a farm. I was introduced to the reproductive process of animals early. But, in regard to relationships and my own development...it was as it went. Some things were not even discussed until they happend. I do agree that I would rather let my children hear about certain things in life from me first...than from others. I have some kind of control and not only that...its hard to change the child's mind about something once others have influenced on the outside first.

I was in the third grade I think, when
my Daddy, who was drunk at the time,
told me how boys would use me for
their own needs, and to always stand
my ground. It wasn't discussed again,
until I was twelve and got my first period.
Then Mom went into more detail. Health class, friends and exploration took care of the rest.

Sexual counsel could receive while the youngster asks for it. it is likewise an ongoing technique, no longer a as quickly as in an entire life clarification. it may be age acceptable and private. regrettably, teenagers are uncovered to counsel with the aid of media that commonly will improve questions in the previous they are arranged or choose the counsel. So subsequently, parents could be arranged to describe various of sexual matters to teenagers, in the previous they are waiting yet while they ask. I fairly agree including your husband, a baby could be a baby and not could complication approximately sexual subject concerns in the previous they could comprehend the meaning at the back of those studies yet regrettably, its no longer actuality.

I got it from health class at age 12. I started my period at age 9, and I thought I was bleeding to death. My mom told me about the period that day, but not about sex. I guess she figured if you don't know you can't do it.
