I would say at about 10-12. Mainly because at that age they absorb information like no other time. And, of course, because they would still be pre-puberty or alot closer to puberty. All that information can come in handy when they start getting confused and start to wonder what the heck is going on.

None. That should be taught at home. The school has no business teaching children sex ed because it raises too many questions about morality, and morality is taught at home.
If a teacher/school could actually stick to the pure mechanics to explain where babies come from and how diseases are spread, that would be fine, but the topic raises too many questions like gay sex, birth control, and other things that are moral decisions that should be guided by parents, not teachers.

I think that a child is ready to learn about sex ed i would say around 11-12...you have to remember that some girls get there periode right around then...I know that I learned about it in the 7th 8th and then freshmen year in health class. I don't know if learning about it early makes kids more curious but at least they have all the right answers and not sitting around trying to figure them out themselves I guess.

There are different levels of sex ed., some could start as young as seven and eight years old. I am thinking of a Christian approach that was started way back when my oldest children, now in their 30's where young.

It's a personal choice. But on average I'd say 14-16.

Depends on the child. Information should be available before the child tries risky behavior no matter what age they may be. The information can be tailored to their age and ability to comprehend.

I think that is a very tough question, as children develop at such different rates.
