I had one last for 9 weeks and it didn't stop until I went to a doctor and got on birth control. There are several different things that could be to blame, mainly stress, or you could have something called polycystic ovarian syndrome, which causes weight gain, irregular periods, broken out skin and several other things. If your period has been longer than 14 days, you should see your doctor so that she can run the appropriate tests to put your mind and body at ease. It is an annoyance, so definately get it checked out. Hope this helps!

Anytime your body does something that it normally doesn't, there's reason to have concern. No need to worry until there's a reason. But you should take it seriously. It may be as simple as a hormonal change or as serious as a fibroid tumor. I had irregular periods where I'd come on twice in once month and/or skipped a month altogether. Sometimes the flow was extra heavy or so light that I couldn't tell I was on. I went to the doctor and found I had a cyst.
It would be best for you to see a gyn. There is hormonal therapy that you can undergo to regulate your cycle.

I was having periods that lasted more than 2 weeks and had to have a hysterectomy. The main cause of long periods is endometriosis. I would go to your gynecologist and get checked out.

No need to worry, periods range differently all the time.
Taking too much motrin, aspirin could of caused it.
It should get back to normal, the body changes with the weather alot.

I would go see your gynecologist. When I was on the Depo Provera shot I did this. Either way..see a doctor because you could become anemic if you lose too much blood.

If someone has stopped taking the injection or the pill, their periods are longer for the first few months and will soon return regular. If it's not that then please go and see a gynocologist.
