The driver is sober.
Just kidding. It means the driver your computer is trying to access is not loaded (or being recognized by your computer.)

Try right clicking on "My Computer" go down to "Properties" then the "Hardware" tab, and click the "Device Manager" button... if the driver is not currently supported by your Operating System there will be a list called like "unknown devices" or something like that... if so, then let us know

A certain device on your computer that needs a driver to work is missing. Go to "Control Panel" click on "Systems" then "Hardware" and one more click to "Device Manager" Once your there you will see a list of your hardware for your computer. If any device has a problem you will see a yellow question mark next to it. If you see one right click the device go to properties and click " Update Driver". If that dosen't work go to drivers.com. They will tell you what you need!

a driver is a means for hardware to communicate with the operating system. Monitors, hard drives, NIC cards, all cannot function unless the proper drivers are installed.

Go to the website of the maker of the equipment, and look for driver downloads.
It could be your printer, or graphics card, or any piece of h/ware attached to your PC.
