The prostate is a gland of the male reproductive system that produces fluid for semen, which helps to transport sperm during the male orgasm. The prostate is made up of about 30% muscular tissue; the rest is glandular tissue.
Normally, the prostate is small—about the same size and shape as a walnut. It is located in front of the rectum and just below the bladder. The prostate wraps around the urethra, which is the tube that carries urine out from the bladder through the tip of the penis
The older a man gets, or disease can make the prostate enlarge
which constricts the tube in which men urinate, so the bladder stays full and their up 20 times a night, because the urge to go pee pee is strong.

Structure
A healthy human prostate is slightly larger than a walnut. It surrounds the urethra just below the urinary bladder and can be felt during a rectal exam.
The ducts are lined with transitional epithelium.
Within the prostate, the urethra coming from the bladder is called the prostatic urethra and merges with the two ejaculatory ducts. (The male urethra has two functions: to carry urine from the bladder during urination and to carry semen during ejaculation.)

It is the gland that stops pee from coming out when a man is about to release sperm. Females do not need a prostrate because their urethra is completely separated from reproduction. Also it produces some of the seminal fluid, that comes out with the semen.

it is a gland that only men have , about the size of a walnut that surrounds the urethra(the tube that carries urine from the blatter through the penis and out).It produces some nutriants and seminal fluid that aid the sperm. It becomes larger as men age,and put pressuer on the urethra ,making it harder for men to urinate.

It is a gland that encircles the urethra in men. The gland can become swollen, and can make it difficult for men to urinate, completely empty their bladder, or be unable to empty their bladder at all.
