Depends on the type of plant.

Some plants don't want a lot of sunlight. . . just 'indirect' light, shade out of the sun.

As someone else said, could be too much plant food/fertilizer too.

Usually when plants have too much water, their leaves turn yellow and soft before turning brown.

But you describe brown and burnt-looking. That can be not enough water. . . . but you say you water them a lot. So I would say it's a light problem (too much?) or fertilizer.

feels like they choose some water. in case you at the instant are not into watering them continuously, attempt to discover a bowl to apply that suits below the pot, Then once you water the plant the greater suitable water will drain into the bowl and the flowers roots gets the water from the bowl that wets the soil interior the backside of the pot.

May be you have put too much of fertilizer, specially the chemical ones.
Stop using fertilizer for few weeks and see if there is an improvement.
