The agricultural and food industry's are largely produced in this country. Although I did pick up a jar of dill pickles the other day and it was made in India. I know cereal, being a flake, that what is made in this country comes from this country and there is very little import from it. Most paper is made in this country, I hauled enough of it to know that. But you are right we have become the consumer country and many other country's have become the supplier.

I'm not sure this is an entirely desirable goal.
Certainly we do need industry here, but trade is influencing China's slow democratization far more effectively than any military action could. Plus, nations with interdependent economic systems are much less likely to try to bomb one another.
Additionally, I don't think it's a zero-sum game. Just because something is made in China doesn't mean that one less thing will be made here, oddly enough. The creation of wealth in China will actually aid the creation of wealth here. What we need is two-way trade, and while I agree that the balance of U.S.-China trade is too one-sided, I think in large part that is simply a product of our relative wealth. We are rich in comparison, and while China is growing quickly, it remains for the most part a very poor country. However, trade is changing that, and as the wealth of the average Chinese citizen increases, so too will the number of items they purchase from us, and the trade imbalance will begin to disappear.
