You are only 2cm dilated which means that the doctor felt the head upon manipulation...which means he knew where to look for the position of the baby and etc...The baby is in position for birth; you need to dilate more...you probably have a while to go yet.

No you won't feel her head because it is the cervix that is dilated and effaced and that is where her head is. The cervix is at the end of the birth canal (vagina). The end of the vagina is usually between 5-7 inches from the outer edge that you can see and feel. All of people don't know that there are not very many nerve endings inside the vagina, which means you probably don't feel much at all. Maybe some pressure. If you have ever had your boyfriend or husband " bottom out " that is where your baby actually is right now. It doesn't sound like you have anything to worry about. As long as your dr is ok with your progress, you should be fine. I would ask your dr about sex, not because you will hit her but because there is a hormone in semen that can bring on labor, so if you are too early to deliver definately ask the dr. I am not a dr or anything, but I had the same types of questions when I was pregnant, so I am happy to share what I learned then. I was 3 cm dilated and 75% effaced for 2 1/2 months and everything worked out fine. good luck and enjoy your baby.

many women folk people could be dilated to 2cm for weeks. don't be too excited related to the adaptation interior the scientific docs examination and the nurses on the well being facility. A vag examination is subjective, meaning 2 people can verify the comparable cervix and get a diverse variety. purely considering you may sense the babys head, does no longer mean toddler is engaged, it basically skill that he's head down. I have not got any thought what you advise once you're saying your cervix is dealing with forward or why it fairly is powerful. i'm an OB nurse and on no account heard that expression in the previous. each exertions is diverse and intensely unpredictable, there is not any confident thank you to tell while exertions will commence or how long in the previous transport. it relatively is unquestionably one of lifes mysteries. stable luck.

Must be your first baby. There is quite a way for that baby to travel, yet. The birth canal is not where you are dilated. It is the cervix. But her head is in the downward position and is resting inside your pelvic cavity. 60% effaced means that you still have to wait a bit for the cervix to thin out and the rest of the dilating process to begin. Take some walks with your partner and it is perfectly safe to have relations. As a matter of fact, that is one of the things a health professional will tell you can bring your labor on. You won't poke the baby's head because she is inside a bag of water. She is very well protected.

Don't worry.....your birth canal is actually not that shallow.....so you can still have sex without poking your baby. You're only 2cm dilated at this point, meaning, your baby, although head down and descended, is still quite a far way in. If you feel fine, and not too sore, go ahead and enjoy yourself with your partner. And congratulations! :)

No you wouldnt feel her head but you may feel pressure.
They judge CM based on how many fingers can go into the cercix. So if your 2 CM then thats 2 fingers! The baby head is bigger then 2 fingers.
Try a warm shower. Walking and nipple stimulation to get things started. Also WALK and Walk some more lol

Um..her head wont ACTUALLY be between your legs, otherwise you would have gone through labour and be about to drop a baby on the floor.
You do know what a cervix is right? Well, its open to two centimeters. You need it to be open to 10 for the baby to come out. When the doctor reached up in there, he reached up into the 2 centimeter hole and felt the babies head in there.
He didnt actually mean the head was coming out.
You did read about pregnancy right? I mean, I just hope you know whats giong on down there....

I wouldn't have sex unless you are ready for the baby. I was 5cm 100% effaces and I didn't feel a difference. In fact I was still taking care of my 2 year old. If you do have sex you will not poke her.

Even at 60% effaced, there isn't much you would feel. Sex is fine too, as long as your water doesn't break, and it could actually help get things going faster anyways. 2 cm isn't anything! I was at 2 cm for over 2 weeks, and was still induced for being too far past by due date! Good Luck!

Hm. two days before my labor started I could feel the baby's head starting to come out. It was so weird and uncomfortable. I had to sit on the side of my hip, or I felt I was squashing her head! haha.
