Hello, my baby is now 3 months old and he's currently being breastfed. I pump for work and he's been taking 4 ounces pretty easily. When should I expect him to take more during his feedings? Thanks, Millie

No real set time; basically, when he's ready. There's no set timetable; you will just one day suddenly notice him eating more. Keep pumping as always, tell your caregiver to give him as much as he wants - if that means going to a second bottle, then she or he should do it.

Have them keeep track of how much he's eating - likely he already is ready to eat a bit more, but they might not be giving him more than that 4 oz bottle.

If he seems to be spending a longer time at the breast, seems to almost attack it, then he's hungry and not likely getting enough when not with you.

Try moving to a larger bottle, up the amount in it by an ounce, see where it goes. Could be he'll start drinking it immediately, or could be he won't for at least another month yet.

Most like in the next few months. My son was a little slow in his feeding at first as well. But trust me, your baby's appetite will pick up rather quickly. You'll soon be saying "My baby eats too much and is always hungry." That's exactly what I say now.

when he gets a little older maybe by 5 months or so. that could be just how he eats though bc my sisters baby does not eat alot but what you can do is put little bit of cereal in the milk and that will give him more nutriances too and fill him up more.

I would go ahead and try 5 and see if he will drink it. Mine staid on 4 oz till like around 5 months. If he is taking it fine move up and try more you can always go back down.

my 6 week old eat three, four and five ounces. it changes. sometimes they just aren't as hungry as other times. he'll cry if he's still hungry, maybe try giving him a little more and see if he wants it

Try making his feedings farther apart.

when she is ready... if she finishes 4oz and it is obvious she is still hungry giver her another 2oz.. and then offer 6oz from then on, till one day you giver her 6oz and she is obviously still hungry, then give her another 2oz.. and then from then offer her 8oz bottles.. no need to give her more than 8oz
