I'm very saddened by Mr Kim's death and wondering what you think may have saved him from such a cruel death? Any survival skills?

thing is, may he rest in peace, he should have stuck with the family. started three nice smokey fires, and huddled up. this is america, three colums of smoke will draw attention.

you must remember extreme weather can kill you. wait it out.

Even very young children survive some very harsh conditions - why? Because when they're cold, they find a place to huddle up in; when they're tired, they sleep. They don't get gung-ho and manly. I suppose they're also less likely to panic and start running wildly.
Be prepared. Take minimum emergency supplies. Learn simple survival skills. And learn a few things about survival psychology.
Tell someone where you're going and what route, and when you plan to arrive.
