They always confiscated my jewellery... Said that i could have it back at the end of term... my Mum wasn't having any of that though, she marched straight up there and got it back, saying that she didn't authorise my possessions to be taken away from me. what gives them the right to take anything until they feel like they want to give it back? It's like authorised stealing!

I would try to get it back - many schools today have an attitude problem. But then, I also understand that a lot of students do, too.
When I went to school there weren't any "confiscations" that I recall, because times were different.
The biggest problems had to do with running in the halls, and things like this.

Confiscated? I got kicked out during lunchtime for setting off a rocket in the playground. My own fault really as it was during an assembly whilst the Headmaster was giving a speech of some kind.

I had a pencil case confiscated once because I threw it at someone to get their attention. I got it back but my bit of weed was missing and none of the teachers mentioned it!

Mostly cigarettes.
Had a teacher who used to confiscate sweets and if he found you chewing he would make you squeeze it in your hand for the entire lesson and then throw it away, not very nice if it was chewing gum.

Just notes I was passing to my friends. I had to write 500 sentences because I used a cuss word in one of them in the 6th grade.

Loads of good thinks including my tamigotchi and one of those bracelets which was a piece of metal covered in material, you whacked it on your wrist and it curled up into a bracelet but apparently you could slash your wrist open with them so they were banned big time (boring)

I had my purse taken away because the coins were 'too noisy' (ironically this was my music teacher)! And my Religious Studies teacher took my tamagotchi.
