Local events: i.e., some festival native to that particular area, recreation of the natives, food, food and more food. Nothing like trying a local favorite food. I'd also like to see about their clothing shops.

I would love to check out Mayan architecture and sites in Mexico, or to go see Stonehenge in England. The mystery around certain ancient sites are exhilarating.
