I think yes. My 1999 206 head gasket went recently, the clutch went last year and the down pipe on the exhaust went the year b4 that! and the car has been regularly serviced. I am looking to change and you can look at my question 4 all the advice I've received. having sed that an ex has a 2001 406 which hasn't had any problems except for the starter motor. but at the end of the day all cars, even the rolls Royce has it faults

I have run Peugeot 405's, 406's and now 407 on a large taxi fleet for many years. I change my cars at 4 years old when they have covered at least 350,000 - 400,000 miles. They are the most reliable cars on the road if like any other car, they are regularly and properly serviced. I did try two Mondeos once but they were completely knackered by 200,000 miles. Oh..also, for the idiots that think Peugeot cars are all French...what do you think they build in the UK factories like Ryton?..Peugeot cars your plonkers!!!

i've got a 206 roland garros and i can never get the rear view mirror in the right place. It's either a view of the sky or a view of the headrests on the back seat. My reverse gear sticks. and the ticking noise the auto wipers makes drives me nuts. minor but annoying problems.

All cars have problems. The main faults I found with my two were thus: They dont like damp starts, and for some strange reason, their paintwork peels very badly

I have a 1991 205 1.1, with 145k on it, all it has ever needed was a battery and a starter motor.
Excellent cars, as long as they are serviced regularly.
