To be honest Nick needed someone to be his equal. He is much smarter than Jessica and she was not a challenge to him mentally.

I would assume that their breakup was just like any other breakup....they gave up. Nick is older than Jessica, this was her first relationship, she made it big(briefly), and problems arose. Every relationship has problems, their first was broadcasting their relationship on television. Although I did love to watch the show, it was the beginning and the end of their relationship. Honestly, I think later down the line Jessica is going to realize, once again, that she had a good man, and she let him go. Nick did not treat her bad, he would do pretty much anything for her, and she gave it up....twice. So what if Nick watched a few strippers, it's not like he was trying to hide it, he's a freakin celebrity....he can't hide anything. That was all just excuses. Point is they gave up on their relationship.

Jessica's father Joe pressured her to di it. Before they were married Joe told Jessica not to sign a prenup because Nick was the bigger star. After a while, Jessica started getting bigger and her father told her that maybe she should leave Nick. There was also rumors that Jessica was cheating on Nick with Johnny Knoxville while filming Dukes of Hazard, and Nick was cheating on Jess with Vanessa Minillio. In the end, the constant media pressure finally got through to them it was mainly JOE's fault and he pushed her to do it. But in the end Nick got the better deal because he got a chunk out of Jessica's bank account and Vanessa Minillio.

I don't think anyone knows for sure, there are just lots of rumors.
1. Her creepy dad made her do it because then she will be more marketable.
2. They probably both cheated because a) she was a virgin before marriage and probably decided she wanted to try something else and b) he might have cheated on her because her virgin novelty had worn off.
3. They had no life without cameras.
4. She's not so smart. I don't think she's as dumb as "Newlyweds" made her out to be but she's definitely not smart! I mean who flubs the words to Dolly Partons "9-5" song at a show honoring Dolly??? Hello! This is your job, you just have to memorize this song and sing it. Or just read the teleprompter. Her and her sister need to get it together. I really think that just makes them look so bad!

nick was a party animal and jessica decided she didnt like it and wanted it to stop, i think there was an incident with a stripper or 2. hmmm and i think the chicken of the sea comment just started the decline of the relationship.....also kinda funny how nick was the star before they met and then was the star and now he's the bigger star again.

They had no life without a camera being there. That is a lot of pressure plus you have to admit that she is a bigger star then he is now and maybe that was causing some friction. I think that she wanted to part more than he did.
