Probably the backing plate (dust shield) behind the brake rotor. These are made of thin sheet metal and are easily bent, fouling the rotor under some conditions. Not dangerous at all and easily fixed, though you might have to remove the wheel to do it. Just pull the wheel off, see where the plate is bent and rubbing on the rotor and bend it back.
