I was a waitress and bartender for 12 years, so looks mean nothing to me. I look for cleanliness of hair and uniform, friendly smile, speaking clearly, knowing your menu and product, and not forgetting to refill my coffee or water. My husband and I are generous tippers if we get these things.

I always try to leave standard 15% but if the server was too much of a rush and if my coke has to sit empty for long and they didnt seem to care about me or my guest, I will leave NO tip. Now if the server is really nice, chatty, refills constantly, and asks "how is everything" or "hows your meal" etc, they will usually get a huge tip from me, since they go that extra mile. If service was just standard, my drinks were refilled and everything was smooth i will leave 15%.

Honestly.. no! If you give me good service, and a smile, you'll get a good tip! Thats it! Personality goes a LONG way. There is this one bartender/waiter who always lets me know 10-15 min before the drink specials stop. He's an old bald guy, and I tip that guy great every time!

Nope. I tip based on service. A server can my dropped dead gorgeous and if he/she doesn't my the right amount of attention to my table, he/she won't get a very good tip. I've actually left without giving a tip because the service sucked or I've left just a couple of pennies.

I tip on service, the better the service the better the tip. I will admit though - I will tip pretty good, if the service is so-so, but the personality is fantastic. If they are trying and have the personality to go with it I tip on that, but looks - never.

Honestly, no. My tip comes as 20% of the cost no matter what. Personally, I don't see why they should get more just because they're good-looking. They get plenty of attention just because they are, and I'm sure it would only fuel thier egotistical attitude a lot more. That's just the way I see it.

That might be an interesting study. I would like to think I tip based on service, but I don't know...

Nope. I base it on service. Normally I just use the 15% rule, but it the service really stands out I'll go higher.

I tip according to how good the service has been - how nice the person serving is etc.
I don't base my tips on looks - that's shallow!

Personally, I tip based on the service that was provided to me. Regardless of how they look!
