well it must be true because i stay in shape and my sister does all the workouts hehehe... but dont tell her i said that.
actually sometimes we can finish each others sentences but thats just because we know each other so well, if she gets poked i dont feel it but maybe we just arent twins enough. i dont think this question has an exact answer, but it has some interesting stuff to think about. :)

Yes-- it could be true. Twins shared the same physical AND spiritual space in the womb. I am sure there are ways that their bodies and minds communicate with each other. Besides that, the fact that because they are twins or siblings, I am sure they spend a lot of time around each other and in the same space, and are, therefore, susceptible to the same germs.

I think people underestimate their own psychic powers. It we only use 10% of our brain actively, that leaves the other 90% there IS being used in other ways. Humans are highly evolved and can communicate with each other more than just verbally, especially those who have a strong connection with each other, ie twins.

My soulmate and I experience the same thing somewhat. We were born a day a part in the same hospital in 1975. We did not spend our childhoods together but we are together now. As we dicussed life events, it became evident that I felt his ups and downs even in his absence. Sometimes, it is really bad. He can ask me something and I will think about the answer but not yet verbalize it. He would then respond. When I tell him I did not say anything yet but I WAS thinking that very thought, he used to get pissed and tell me I was crazy. Afer this kept happening, he slowly but surely accepted the fact that we can communicate in other ways. There are thoughts that I may have that I would never tell him, because I feel they are just to intricate. Later, he has revealed the same thoughts in conversation. Those are the times when I feel our relationship is strenghtened. It lets me know that we ARE on this journey together, are connected to the same consciousness and are learning the same lessons, just in different ways.

Humans need to know more about themselves. I get ticked off by the fact that we spend so much time in school as kids learning things that have very little affect on how we can relate to this space that we actually live in or relate to each other-- even though studying physics, math and biology do help me describe certain life circumstances in more creative ways. If humans don't use their innate abilities, then someone else will use them-- and that is basically what is happening now. Either that or we are losing the ability to use them through evolution. They got us where they want us.

It depends on the surroundings, the twins are almost near identical in genes. So they could indeed have also the same immune system, so if they have the same immune system when the germs effect twin 1, twin 2 will also become sick because the immune system is identical and can't fight the germ. Now if one is in Florida and the other is Washington D.C. and twin 1 gets sick and at the same time twin 2 gets sick also... that would become really wild, but could just be a freak accident. or a act of god.you pick.

It's true between anyone in close approximaty with another.
Especially close family members who are not practicing
they're hygiene to the fullest potential or can't.In any case
I believe the symptoms probably start out as psycho sematic
and that in most situations the "other" simply has knowlege
and is aware of the other being sick. There are some people
who are not related at all have truly psychic bonds with the world.
So...I would not imagine that being health wise very "good"
I would agree about persueing the study.Besides there will
always be an "invisible"interfering medium.of whoms "perception"
may distort such a legitamate study. possibly ,given the "sensitivity of the particular psychic like subjects.
And then again there are these things also called pheramones.
(I might not have spelled that correctly) Unrelated people who
also live in the same place emit these hormones, that are
said able to effect eachother.Take women for example..
Two women un-related can when upon spending or living
together can both become very psychosympathetic and
they both can actually begin to have periods within the same
time frame ..Did you know also that some men have been said
to experience the same things as their pregnant wife.
Actually this is true some men have been known to "feel" hunger and "stomach bumps and all sorts of the same symptoms as their pregnant wife .
All I have to say about the "whole "thing is this saying...
I say "knock on wood" to it all ! That's the saying you say if
your talking to a friend or someone and you both happen to
say the same thing at the same time.It is said that you have to
actually knock on anything wooden to break the spell..
I guess or then it would all be like a major oxymoron.

If the twins live in the same house (or see each other daily, etc.) then they can simply contract the illnesses from each other. For those with a similar genetic makeup and age, there is nothing preventing one and not the other from having a developed or predisposed immunity to a certain germ.
Now, if you're not talking about infectious illness there is still a fairly good chance they developed it at the same time. Lastly there is empathy, that they may subconsciously alter their physiological condition because of a psychological (not paranormal) bond.
If the twins never see each other (and you somehow see them both), then you're selectively filtering the information you recieve over time and remembering only when they are both sick and not when only one is sick (this can be a real psychological result of hearing myths about twins).

I don't really know about the likelyhood of sharring a physical infimity but I have younger brothers who are identical twins. At the age of 8 the school they attended had trouble with them switching classes with each other. If one was good at say , math and the other wasn't they would switch places in different class rooms so the one better at math would take the test for both. Because the school staff could not tell them apart this became very frustrating for them. In an effort to solve this dilema the school administered I.Q. test's for both. The result of this testing indicated that they both had the I.Q. of 21 year old's. Unfortunatly their advanced intelligence lead them to abohrant behaiviors and they ended up in trouble with the law. As a result they were examined Psychologically and determined to be criminal geniuses and were imprisoned. The oddity of this situation is that they were placed in sperate institutions and had apparently no problem escaping from them. The strange part is that they were allowed no contact with one another yet they would escape at the same time and meet at the same place without being able to talk to one another before hand. No one could ever figure out how this occured and my brother's are now incarcerated and institutionalized in a more secure facility for the crimanally insane. I am told though that they remain in constant mental communication with each other and no one can explain how or why.

yes it is possible.. It's very common too.
it's also common for some families where one is sick the ones closet to that age get sick too!
My Brother is 1 year younger than me.. He often gets sick if I get sick! Yet he lives in Ontario and I'm in British Columbia. When I'm not feeling well often my Sister in Armstrong isn't feeling well too! She is about 5 or 6 years younger than me! I know of some twins that always got sick at the same time!

Sure, two people can be sick at the same time.
But can twins share feelings...i.e. psychic/paranormal stuff?
I don't think its physically possible.
I do think, however, that a person can percieve certain events as 'psychic.'
For example, have you ever been thinking about someone...and then he or she calls right away? Pretty amazing.
Sounds like a psychic ability, right?
But what if it's a coincidence? It's highly likely that A) you think about people you know, and B) people you know call you.
So, it's not so surprising if A & B occur together.
Maybe the twin "phenomena" is similar.
Check out The Skeptic's Dictionary for more info on why many people, such as myself, don't ascribe to paranormal beliefs.

this is not so much a physical phenomena, rather a psycological one. this does not occur because of any telepathy or anything of the sort, rather because the twins are incredibly close to each other emotionally, and so they feel attached to each other. the same thing happens to couples; if one gets sick, the other one feels bad as well.
if you have two twins and you keep them from contacting each other, and one gets sick, the other one will not.

It doesn't always happen with twins, when my uncle was in WW II he stepped on a land mine, at that exact moment my mother sat straight up in her bed out of a dead sleep with a burning, piercing pain in her left side and chest. My uncle survived but came home with his left lung gone. So, yes, it is possible, twins can even finish each other's sentences sometimes as well.
