cos theta is -4/5
sintheta=3/5
tan theta=-3/4
tan 2 theta=2tantheta/1-tan^2theta
=2(-3/4)/(1-(9/16))
=(-3/2)(16/7)
=-24/7

3/4/5 triangle, cos theta = -4/5 so sin theta = 3/5 (2nd quadrant).

Use the formula for tan (2 theta) and plug in the stuff above.

sin theta will be 3/5 which u can easily observe from teh basic formula sin sqare theta + cos square theta=1.

now sin is +ive in 2nd quad

tan theta=-3/4

tan 2theta=2*tan theta/1-tan square theta

answer=3.42

let theta be x

cosx= - 4/5
sinx=3/5
tanx= - 3/4

pi
tan2x=2tanx/(1-tanx*tanx)
=-3/4 / (1 - 9/16)
=-3/4 * 16/9= -4/3

So tan 2x= - 4/3
