Acidophiles. Get it at the health food store, the liquid drinks are usually the best and have the highest in active cultures. You can also take capsule form and they can advice you on the strength and amounts to be effective. Acidophiles is the healthy bacteria we all have in our bodies to control the introduction of bad bacteria. Yogurt does not contain enough of this good bacteria to be effective once the infection has already occurred. But consuming it regularly can help maintain a healthy system once your infection is under control. You can also make Acidophiles drinks a regular part of your diet as well, many of them are great tasting.

Some natural remedies for candida are: Oregano oil 300-500 mg 3x daily with meals; A good probiotic or yogurt daily; Garlic 500-1000 mg twice daily; Grapefruit seed extract 200 mg 2-3x daily. See Balch & Stengler's Prescription For Natural Cures for good discussion, info and advice. (Avoid sugar and white flour in all forms; they feed the yeast).

Acidophiles is good, but look at the labels list of probiotic content. Included should be: Lactobacillus-acidophilus, -casei, -paracasei & -salivarus & bifidobacterium.
Also Clark's has a refridgerated section that has a section of probiotics. There you will find a box specifically for women and this condition.
Along with any type of "medicine" you should avoid any: wearing moist/wet clothing, intercourse,& foods like bread, pizza, or beer that have yeast in them. Get plenty of sleep and water. Also use the "medicine" at bed time so that it stays up there. good luck
