Dollywood is a super nice, family-oriented place to visit
There are some rollercoasters and "take your breath away" rides, but mostly there are wonderful singing & dancing shows, artists who make and sell severything from soap, candles, wood engravings, paintings, blacksmithing etc..., and lots of family-friendly rides.
This time of year the park is decorated so festive and beautifully. Infact, the whole Smoky Mountain area is lovely and very hospitable. The people there are warm and friendly, you can rent a log cabin or chalet, lots of fgreat places to shop and you won't break the bank.
Have a wonderful time & fit in a trip to Dollywood. It's fun!

Yes I've been many times. I don't do roller coasters but my huband and 2 teenaged sons love the rides at Dollywood. My 5 year old loves it too because it has a lot of things he can do, like the old fashioned midway, the rain forest area.. etc. There are festivals going on all year round so it's not just for summer.
The kids especially love Splash Country, the water park.
The best part is that there is something for everyone, from newborn too 100. Beautiful country, friendly people, great food and fun rides.

Possibly going this weekend! I've gone 5-6 times! We love it. I have a husband(whose been alot more times when younger), a 5 yr old and a 1 yr old! Depends on when you go-look at there webite www.mypigeonforge.com to see whats going on then! July is kid themed! Lots of kiddy rides. Several water rides, a few rollar coasters and you can take a train ride around Dollywood! They just put in alot of new stuff too. Also, if you go in after 3pm you can go the next day for free (use the same ticket!).

Dollywood was my favorite theme park growing up. My grandparents would always ask if I wanted to go to Disney World and I would always say I'd rather go to Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, TN. I think the place has good food, shows, rides, and family friendly atmosphere. It is definintly on my favorite theme parks list. Plus Dolly Parton's family sometimes roams the park, you might meet her cousins. I haven't been in about 3/4 years, but I do remember it being cool.

Yes, twice. It has a lot of shows and many artisians. It's not an amusement park (a park that is based on mostly rides) it is a theme park (depiction of the 1890's era).

I went once when I was very young. I don't remember much except a duck crossing and a lift that takes you up a mountain.
