I went to one of the screenings before it was released. I also saw it on opening night. Excellent movie. Hilarious! Yes there are many scary people in America, but it wouldn't have been as funny if they showed all the normal ones, would it?
Pentecostals speak in tongues like that. There's a lot of that faith healing malarkey on television in the states. Usually they're money making scams like that Ernest Angley guy.

That was real life. Even though Borat is only a movie it did film the real people who came into contact with him. Those are evangelicals who talk in weird languages and are scary.

Well, if you live in the Southeast US, you see stuff like that all the time! And yes, it is sometimes scary.
