If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, do the following:
Tools => Internet options
(these are from IE7, you might find it a bit different in earlier versions!!!)

in the "Generals" tab, in the "Browsing History", section click on "Delete"

- Choose what you want to delete, or simply click on "Delete All..." Button.

make sure that the checkbox "Also delete files and settings ....." is checked (to delete absolutely everything), then click on "Yes"

- Click "OK"

Enjoy ;)
