There aren't any such laws - just a bunch of excessively politically correct numbskulls who are doing more harm than good.
You're absolutely right... if there's a Black Policeman's Association then there should be a White Policeman's Association. And the same goes for Black History Week, the Black Music Awards and all the only "minority only" events, ceremonies and institutions. It is a farce to accuse the Metropolitan Police of "Institutional Racism" yet permit some of the members of that force to belong to an association which only allows black people to join.
The same applies to any other group (including women) who want to be considered on equal terms. Sub-dividing our society into smaller and smaller interest groups is not the way to become united and and equal - what next... The One-armed Rastafarian Lesbians Police Association? The Toothless Left-Handed Black Muslim Traffic Warden's Guild? Is that going to achive anything other than point out such a group as yet another minority to be pidgeon-holed and stereotyped? Taken to it's ultimate degree, every one of us will end up in their own individual association, each separate and divided from everyone else because, after all, we are all different from one another in some respect.
It wasn't so many years ago that the World was in uproar because of an institution in South Africa called Apartheid which required black and white to be kept separate with "black only" buses, for example. Yet we seem to be operating the same sort of thing in the UK with the blessing of the government and many of these same people who regarded Apartheid as racist.
Can't people see that for there to be racial harmony and integration people have to be colour BLIND, not have separate institutions for each race. What is the difference, for example, between having a Black Music Award and, say, a black-only sporting event at the Olympics? There would be protests and boycotts if the IOC introduced black-only sporting events with accusations of racism and demands that everyone be permitted to compete on equal terms, and rightly so but somehow these racist "black only" groups are permitted.
If different racial groups want a voice then they should have an EQUAL voice, not something that is made more than equal by banning the white majority from having an equal say as well - setting up "black only" groups seems to be either an admission of inferiority (which it most certainly should not be) or positive discrimination (which will only cause resentment and more prejudice).
If the gentleman below thinks that "reverse racism" is the answer because some sort of payback is due then perhaps he should consider the fact that such tit-for-tat prejudices will only reflect back on the minorities in the end and if anyone ends up the winner, it certainly won't be the minorities.
Equality means just that - equality for ALL.

There are associations both black and white and every other colour you care to mention, its called a police federation, it supports all races of police officers.
if a person wether white or black or Chinese or Asian feels the need of a racial intervention then the current race equality council is there for their use, however it seems to be the norm that non coloured citizens feel under represented by this council, partly because of the media and press coverage of some of the high profile coloured cases, there is not much point ,i feel in bad mouthing the selected political appointees who run these organisations, what we need to do is change their mandate to include more of an even balance within the cases they take up,
the situation becomes a challenge when not many non white citizens complain or at best considered spurious, dint take my thoughts as being those of a political person or a 'do Good'' i am neither ,just a hard working bloke. LF

i'm satisfied that the own needs of the female were respected and which could favor to be the case for both gender, in any united states, related to get admission to into marriage. There are diffused and significant adjustments in compelled as adverse to prepared marriages. prepared could have some advantages if all activities are extremely satisfied with the arrangements as they can construct in additional beneficial help .. compelled is thoroughly incorrect. Like anybody else i visit in common words study / see the countless press comments yet as I understand the legislations and prerequisites: the female in touch became no longer a British situation, has no British passport and, once she became outdoors the united kingdom the British Courts and the legislations probable did not keep on with and had no authority. it kind of feels accessible subsequently that the united kingdom Courts announcement lower than the legislations became extra useful as a token of help and had no enforceability once the female became in Bangladesh. help for this accessible view of the legislations is given by the very shown truth that the female isn't legally entitled to any reputable Consular the help of the united kingdom authorities in Bangladesh besides the very shown truth that some 'casual' help is being given to her. ( that's only how I study between the lines of what looks to have taken position ) it truly is encouraging that the Bangladesh Courts are taking a extra present day view of Human Rights in such situations. in my view i'd have given the united kingdom compelled Marriage regulation extra tooth and made activities to such action a criminal offence particularly than only making declarations .. the legislators desirous to 'tread softly' to dodge racial sensitivities. ultimately, I favor the female nicely yet do only ask, how can a mature woman which incorporates this interpreting to be a wellbeing practitioner with each and each and every of the abilities and inteligence that she probable has get herself into this problem .. if it occurs to human beings like her then imagine the size of the problem with ( no offence meant ) a lot less inteligent and articulate human beings ?

Wow - GLH must type REALLY fast to have got that huge long answer in before the shorter ones.
Being female I'm aware that I don't always want to talk to a bloke about specific problems. They might not get it. I might have to explain basic stuff that another woman would understand without a diagram.
I guess other people might also feel the same way.
Since white men are in the majority, if they really feel oppressed by other people being treated as equals they could get together and whine about it.

I quite agree with you. There's also a Society of Black Lawyers' and a Women Barristers, an Association of Women Barristers and an Association of Women Solicitors. Such organisations proliferate in the USA, where I noticed there was even at least one organisation for black women lawyers!

The "Politics" of both England and the US have gotten out of hand.
We are expected to forget about the 2000 Presidential election and focus on the war on terror?
Racism is screamed when one nationality doesn't agree with another.
Media only reports the news that the media wishes us to know.
According to the Bible, it aint going to get any better till it's all over.
And this forum is not designed to become a discussion board.

Would a "Women Police Association" bother you, too? Why cannot you think of it as a support group for minorities to join the mainstream?

Please do not allow yourself to be ruled by fear, realise that 96% of Great Britain is still white. That means for every four foreigners there are 96 Britons, you have nothing to fear but fear itself.
