My car is drawing from something. The battery is deader than a doornail and alternator is brand new. What ever it is drawing from shuts off and turns back on my mech just told me.

Tell your mechanic to go back to school, Just check to see if you have a failing battery or a battery that is going bad. If your battery and alternator is good and working properly, then you have an electrical short. Have a certified mechanic do a electrical diagnostic on your car.

There's just not enough info here to go on. Your lights are about the only thing strong enough to drain your battery. Unless there's some kind of electrical problem I'm guessing you've just got a bad battery.

key off battery drains can be tuf first if this car is a ford make sure when they hooked in the alt they didnt short the 3 wires together .....disconect neg batt terminal 2nd hook a 5 wat light bulb between batt and terminal now un plug alternator and fuses untill light turns off and you found the problem circut ...note keep key out of ignition and any lights you can find on need to be off dome under hood etc

elec. shorts are time consuming and hard to find.make sure your mech. is good at elec. if not take it somewhere else. I have seen glove compartment lights stuck on trunk lights radios wired wrong cell phone chargers you name it
