Seek a cousular at a local church. you are too young...a choice like this will cause you more heartache in the end.
God Loves you and has a plan for your life. Anyone considering walking away like this please know this is a poor choice. you have a roof over your head, clothes on your back and food in your pantry. Have you tried getting involved in a local church youth group. Reach out to some christian teens and let them know that you need some help with things in your life.

You can't run away from everything. If you think you have it bad now, wait about 8 weeks after you leave, unless some millionaire dude who is about 48 wants to sweep you off your feet and take you away, it's not a good idea. You will probably end up with the 48 year old dude all right, but the word millionaire will be farrrr away.

Well if you just want to experience "Independent", you can participate in school training camp/boot-camp. But, if you want to just leave your family at 16, you must reconsider as in-term of economically you might not able to be self-supported. Think over it before act on it.

If you are living in an abusive home, leave. You could either stay with family if you could, you may even have to go to an orphanage, or if you can support yourself get your own place or a teen shelter. Just please don't end up on the streets.

a legal question should be asked to the lawyer in your state. I read somewhere that it is difficult for law enforecement to make an older teen stay at home, do you have someplace safe to go, will you still finish high school, will you be able to eat, transportation, bla bla bla....
