There's a recently discovered group of hominids that have been dubbed the hobbits. Their bones were found on an island in the south pacific. There are hundreds of islands there so some scientists hypothesize that they may still be around. Not what you were asking I'm sure but a testament to how amazing reality can be.

If you believe in the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny, why not hobbits.

Anything is possible, just not probable. Hobbits may exist, so could unicorns, griffins, and honest lawyers. You can't disprove them. It's a big universe, not just little-big, but big-big.

I seen a hobbit once. I swear. I was up north tripping on LSD and one came and sat next to me by the fire. Poor thing got to close and burnt the hair off of his feet. that will teach him. You live and you learn right...

Certainly. As does Santa, the Easter Bunny, the fact that the moon is made up of Green Cheese, etc. etc. etc.

That said however,,, The fact that somethings have yet to be discovered does not define that they do not exist.

Like they said on ER last night, to qoute a most recent source, "If millions of kids all believe in the same thing it makes it real," (or something along those lines)

I like to believe to believe that they do, along with Santa Claus, and the Easter Bunny playing golf. (but I really am being serious!)

The Neverending Story, Elf, and Peter Pan (when Tink almost dies) are other examples of if people believe it makes it real.

I do not know about the veracity of that but I did once see a man who had a pointy little chin and round, red cheeks who looked to me like an elf. All he needed was pointy little ears.
