I am not sure if we could even catch the possibilities of what is next.
Of course when i say what's next i mean after death...

If we could see, just through the eye of a needle, the wonderful world that is awaiting us , we would all rush to kill ourselves to get there as soon as possible! So there is a wisdom in not knowing what is next.
Imagine a child in the womb of his mother. If he could know what is waiting for him in this physical world - a whole world of people waiting to love him, his parents, wonderful toys to play with etc.. - he would want to come to this world immediately and not wait nine months!
People who have had near death experiences had a glimpse of the next world. There is a beautiful dvd called "A glimpse of Paradise" from a lady who had 3 near death experiences. You might find it interesting.

Very Tricky One! Common sense and rationality say that an afterlife is an impossibility. The reasons for this are complicated but it mostly has to do with the fact that most of us no longer believe in dualism...Dualism is idea that in addition to the physical part of you there is also a nonphysical part...A part that is your soul or spirit or shade. And it is this nonphysical part that will survive death. Some people claim that they have had Near Death Experiences. For a look some of these claims, see:

http://www.near-death.com/

There is also a group called the Outlands who have a website of Near Death Dialogues...Take a look:

http://www.neardeathdialogues.com/dialogues/nde3/outlands.html

As to whether I "believe" any of this or not...I'm not taking a position...Just think it is strange that so many people claim to see the same things when they are near death...Does that mean that they are seeing "what is next" after death or are they just reporting on a purely physical phenomonon? I don't know. No one does because there is very little reliable data. One researcher who is looking into all this is Peter Fenwick. You'll find a good article by him at:

Of course, Elizabeth Kubler Ross did work in this area for year, but she died in 2004:

Of course, if she did have anything to say now, I guess that would answer your question, wouldn't it?

Actually there are a lot of people who KNOW what comes next. And I'm not talking about what the bible says. There are people who have been there and come back. There's so much information on this out there I can't believe there are people who still think there's nothing after death. I guess these are the kind of people who would have laughed at the concept of the world being round.

I believe the fear of what's next has already shaped man in many ways. We may do the right thing for a judgement; or we might just give up on things in hopes to go to the "NEXT" part. Weather right or wrong; the question of what's next is the same as asking what the meaning of life is. No one knows and no one can prove or disprove. The answer to both questions is: We don't know. AND..The best we can do is learn observe be the best we can be, do the most we can do until we are able to answer those questions. The journey and the progression of man might someday help us resolve them.

First of all who knows if there is a next after death?Even assuming there is..... any guess would be as good or bad as any other and there is no way to know which!! But that is good in the sense that we keep concentrating on a fractionally easier task of guessing tomorrow........ one area where we are unable to learn a lesson from repeated failures!!

I don't think man has that ability. I for one do not plan on hanging out on the clouds or flying about in the heavens, God made angels to do that. I was created with a physical body. I love to taste, feel, smell, hear, see and plan to do this this for all eternity. Imagine a day when you couldn't reach into a tree and pick an apple or catch a falling snowflake on your tongue. I can't imagine such a day nor would I want to.

The fact that you use the word "GUESSED" equates to everyone on the planet. Since Guess, and Know are different, I suspect many might "Guess" correctly.

Living in a life of "What if, when, how, where, why, however, is an extreme waste of any life.

I plan to live forever. And what makes you think I can't? I'm doing pretty well so far. Not dead yet.
