I have had premonitions quite a bit ever since I was little. I actually see it as a gift, but it can be very unnerving. I've read a lot of Sylvia Browne's books (she's a famous psychic), and she says if you don't want it, ask God to to take it away. I recommend that you read her books, she writes about what it's been like to be psychic all her life, how she deals with it, and how she uses it to help people. You can also see her on The Montel Williams Show every Wednesday morning.

I get premonitions rarely, and they aren't images or flashy things and are hardly any help so this might not help you at all. Personally, whenever I try to ignore a premonition, and this was years ago when it first started happening, bad stuff would happen and they got worse. When I stopped ignoring them they calmed down and things settled down, for the most part. But then they pretty much disappeared all together because I listened to what they warned about. It could just be my mind. It's not interested in someone who will do what it tells it and wants me to put up a fight.

I've had some premonitions since I was very young. It does feel strange. I trust my premonitions now. When I get a bad feeling something is going to happen, it does. I've learned that if I have a bad premonition of something in particular bad that will happen, if I tell someone about it, it won't happen.
I've never thought about trying to get rid of them. I've just learned to live with them and know that most people will think that I'm full of it if I tell them. The good premonitions I love.

I think you wont be able to stop them. All you have to do is be responsible enough. Put them into good use.
