Whatever it is they enjoy doing or learning about in their spare time, that's what they should do with their lives. If they love to draw, they should be an Artist. If they love to tinker with cars, they should be an Auto Mechanic. If they love to write, they should be an Author. And so on...

I'm one of those people. Always worrying what other people may be thinking about me. Always putting other people first. As for prioritising I am so wet! My most used saying is 'you decide'.

So if you get the right answer let me know. I could do with a good spur on in life.

Sometimes they dont know what they want, maybe their family is pushing for something like (marriage or a job) but they dont know if they really want or like it. Sometimes they get stuck in situations they dont know how to get out of or just go along for the ride. Personally I think that HS seniors should go to an career fair where you can talk to people that have the jobs and a more detailed college orientation where people talk more in depth about all the majors and the opportunities available. When I wanted to switch majors I went and talked to the department chair of the department. However it would have been nice to hve talked to people when I actually started at the college so I could have gotten a better idea of whats involved with all the majors and I could have gotten a better understanding of what I actually wanted to study.

be focused on what you really want in life. start from the simple wants. if you are able to attain it, them go to the other wants and
you can attain your goal day by day. try to live one day at a time.
by doing so, you will find out that there are less complications

try artificial prioritising........ just kidding, advise them to think of their goals with more intimacy... that might help. :-)
