I understand that you are freaked out being that this is your first pregnancy and all, but being only 13 weeks isn't really a time to worry about falling the baby is surrounded in amniotic fluid and protected from such things. Your doctor is right just watch for signs that there may be a problem but the chances are slim that one should arise. I would say the only thing that you have to worry about is a bruised hip and bruised ego. Good Luck.
My other advice would be to get the book "What to expect when your expecting" its a great book and addresses every issue even this one!!

I was about 20 weeks when I fell twice in the same day. I called the doctor and they had me come in and he checked the heartbeat and told me to watch for bleeding. I ended up bruising my tail bone but that was about it. I am sure you are fine. Just do what they say and if you do start bleeding or something just doesn't feel the same then I would call them and tell them you are coming in. Good Luck with everything. Congratulations on being pregnant!

hi, i know how u feel cz when i was pregnant i got in contact with a baby with german measles but without i know ofcourse and i went mad when i knew she was sick so i called 5 different doctors and i was extremely concerned... anyway, if the doctor told u there is nthng to do they r right and the best way is as they said to monitor urself and stay relaxed and dont move around much just sit in sofa and let someone else do ur work.. it is the time when everyone should be serving esp this is ur first...
anyway i hope everything is fine and that uu have a very good delivery (although i know that it is not that easy).. please take care next time

You did the right thing by calling your doctor right away, that should have helped put your mind at ease. Watch for signs of cramping and bleeding which I HIGHLY doubt will happen , the baby couldn't be more protected right now. Don't stress that will only keep you up at night and you need all the rest you can get. Congratulations!!

I fell down the stairs when I was 15 weeks. It was a pretty bad fall, but my daughter was OK. I never had any bleeding or anything. If you do have any bleeding that may be when you need to worry.
Congratulations and be careful ;)

The baby is very very safe and guarded in your belly! Nothing can get to the baby right now, I understand how worried you are, that happened to me too! But everything was okay. Now if you are like 5 months pregnant and you fall, go to the doctors!
Good luck!

honey, I fell over my dog (actually I think he tripped me lol) at 24 weeks HARD on my right hip on my kitchen floor and I was fine. ALthough every woman's body is different, your baby is WELL protected in your womb with all your muscles and fluid. You have nothing to worry about; if you have bleeding, cramping, or pain, get to the ER IMMEDIATELY. Hope this alleviates your worries. All first time mommies are worry warts. Even 2nd and 3rd mommies are!!! :)

No, try your best not to worry. Cause worry itself can cause problems. Just take it easy today and if you start to hurt or spot, call your doctor and put your feet up. I hope that everything is ok. You need to be more careful and don't be lifting anything real heavy, have your man or significant other do it.

Try not to stress. That baby is cushioned very well. It takes A LOT to do any harm with falling. I was 7 months preg. with my oldest daughter and fell belly down HARD. She is 11 yrs old, happy and healthy.

just have a think about how well cushioned the baby is, if you've not got any pains and no bleeding, then it's very unlikely you've done anything serious
if anything you're more likely to have hurt your hip
