I come from a well off family so im not lying. My dad wants to buy me a rolex for christmas (im only 18). We can afford it and I want to get a watch that is around 18 000 or less. and I dont want yellow gold, i prefer white gold. I also like the ones that are 1 tone. Which one should I get? http://www.alanfurman.com/noframes/rolex1.html
Another thing is there a big difference between datejust and day-date? There is a huge price difference but Should i just settle for a datejust instead or should I buy the day-date and is it really that much flashier?

Why not take the 18k and donate it to a charity of your choice instead of taking the chance of having someone see a Rolex on you, beat the living snot out of you and take it. And PLEASE don't give me the crap about how you can handle yourself in that kind of situation...
MY watch? Timex E-Tide and temperature.

If you're getting a Rolex just for the sake of owning a Rolex, then go all out and get the day-date. At that point, you might as well spend the extra to get the feature.
However, there are much more fun and beautiful watches out there (even on the site that you provided!). Audemar's Royal Oak makes such a statement and you can dress it up and down. If your family is as well off as you're saying, then you should really go for a Patek. That is the end all, be all of watches.

Do whatever you want. Personally, I prefer Tag Heur. Rolex is so cliche, isn't it. No one here knows your personal style, only you. Go to the website and pick whichever one you like the most.
Seems like you're a bit presumptuous with the whole "i'm only 18" bit. No one really cares. Sounds like you just want to get it to boast to everyone that your dad spent twenty grand on it which is borderline pathetic. If you're that rich, you wouldn't really need to talk about it, would you? Anyway, they sell fake Rolexes that look 100% like the one you'll be getting for $150. Go figure.

I don't know, dude... If it were me, I'd ask pops for a $200 watch, like a nice Seiko or something, then donate the difference to a charity in your name. Good karma for you if you do! After all, I seriously doubt a rolex keeps better time than a Seiko, and who are you trying to impress anyway?
But, do whatever you want. It's your life. Merry Christmas.

Get a Timex instead of a Rolex, and donate the extra cash to people whose only concept of time is that it's way past time for a meal. Hungry people aren't impressed by expensive watches, and neither is God.
