Christ. though he was not born on Dec .25th
Just knowing about him makes me want to learn more. Sharing with others, having family close, thinking I'm lucky to have "somebody" to spend Christmas with. "Jesus is the reason for the season".

Well for most of us it means celebrating the birth of Jesus, but unfortunately that's not the way it seems at all. To me it's nice cause I love the decorations, the "holiday feeling in the air" and most people are in generous and good moods. That's up until the 10 days before Christmas when all of the madness begins. It's all about the money and spending and fighting over stupid things. people get so stressed. I got married pretty young so It was hard for my grandparents to understand that I just can't make it to 5 different occasions on Christmas day. That was very stressful for the first couple of years. This year my husband and I agreed We will be with his parents on Christmas eve, My parents on Christmas morning ans we will spend a quiet evening at home with the kids. I hate all the rushing. I just wish people didn't freak out so much over "who is spending how much on who". That takes all of the fun out of it and adds stress.

Celebration of the Birth of Christ. Hence, the name Christ -Mass. A Mass is a celebration, so the name is celebration of Christ. It is one of the greatest Christian Holidays. Easter being the other very important Holiday for Christians. We people, being self driven expect gifts on our birthdays. Christ loves us so much, he is a giver and not a taker. He gave us everything, including his life. On this day of celebration we are to show Christ likeness, by giving generously to others. It does not need to be money or material gifts. It can be time and attention to shut in people, a phones call to say I love you, a meal for a hungry neighbor, working in a food pantry, giving toys to kids, food baskets to jobless, etc. This is in honor for Christ. THis is a day of great celebration and we celebrate by Christ as our example and give him all the praise and glory and all the cedit for the things he has allowed us to do in his name. (By the way, it is not a persons meaning of what Christmas is, it is the true meaning that allChristians share)

AS we give gifts on this holiday, let us not forget the significance of this holiday, that Christ gave us his life.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
