I believe that my crayfish niped at one of my blue cichlids, his fins are chewed on a bit and it has been this way since yesterday. Will they grow back??

Yes it will heal and grow back, but it may not be perfectly shaped or coloured.

Your crayfish will continue to nip at your fish - they are notorious for reaching out and trying to grab fish that swim by. You may want to look into getting another for him or getting some slow, easily-caught dithers for him to focus his attention on such as some male guppies.

I hope these aren't in the 5 gallons tank you just posted about...

In my experience they grow back very quickley nicely, usually to the point where you couldn't even tell something had happened with nothing except clean water conditions.

Because cichlids are so aggressive you also want to make sure you have no problems with the tank (too small, poor choice of tankmates), in which case you'll only find this type of problem more frequent and serious as the cichlids grow (they get more aggressive the bigger they get).

they should grow back. it may take up to 9 weeks but eventuall they will. i dont think the creyfish did it though they usually keep to there self under a rock or in an ornament in ur tank. it was probaly another aggressive fish in ur tank larger than the cichlid, unless the cichlid was stayin near the bottom of the tank

they should, I have guppies that sometimes may be aggressive towards each other and would nip at each others fins and the fins would eventually grow back...it takes awhile though. Just be patient.

yes they will eventually, but they'll grow faster if you add Melafix to the water. You should probably isolate him so he doesn't get picked on while he's injured b/c African Cichlids can be ruthless. You can buy or read about Melafix at this link:
