In our culture, in most parts of the Orient, parents are considered to be the human representatives of God, on earth. Generally, children grow up with tremendous reverence for their parents. Parental blessings/activity for every event and occasion in life, are considered by our society and its worthy children, as equivalent to blessings/advice from God. As in every society, so also in our society, there are always some persons, who deviate from traditions and social standard, but the percentage of such deviations is quite small - nothing for our society to worry about.
As no special exception, I have always followed my parents' advice, to the best of my ability, and it has paid me rich dividends, throughout my life.
