because everyone is made of the same thing.
but we all have the right to show the uniquness of our personalities.
so people may look different, or sound different, or do different things, but we are all humanswho deserve to be treated the same.

Because, the fact that you people have so much trouble understanding, is that just because somebody gets facial piercings, doesn't mean they are trying to look different, stand out, and have shock value. Facial piercings are commonly accepted these days, you old fart, and treating them like they aren't normal means you don't understand the fact that they ARE normal, they just have facial piercings because they look cool. Get over yourself and treat people with respect. (I have no facial piercings, I'm just open minded.)

See I don't agree with any of you at all. Facial piercings, though extreme, are a way to express ones self. I don't see it as any difference then dying hair or tattoos or even something as basic as tanning. Now come on people stero typing is what keeps our world from advancing past the hate and flat out ignorance that comes with sterotyping someone purely by their looks. And to answer a question I'm sure everyone wants to know my only piercings are 4 standard ear piercings and a small diamond on the right side of my nose. No I didnt do the nose for attention but rather because I liked the way it looked.

because of the fact generally this is familiar to them. look in the reflect. you probable see somebody finding back who you may describe as "familiar". properly, that's what many with a lot of piercings see while they look in the reflect. Why do you manage them in a various way besides? how are you able to choose a guy's or certainly, a woman's character via some piercings? there are lots of people who look like "familiar" electorate who i would not have faith to wipe the airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dust from my footwear yet i could have faith maximum persons of folk i've got met with piercings - that is to not say that persons with piercings are of sturdy character unavoidably however the element is to not choose via what you spot and undertaking your person view of the international onto others. exciting, huh? Oh, and you at the instant are not a real gents however the right opposite. a real gents could have the grace to not choose a e book via that is disguise and not manage others in a various way based upon his very own criteria. Your criteria, my pal, seem to be particularly low.

If everyone was the same it would be a boring world to live in. So what if they have facial piercings...They are still a person who should be treated with respect underneath it all.

Apparently, they're hoping to rely on the rest of us to make them feel normal. It's a bit on the distracting side for me to have a conversation with someone who has multiple facial piercings. And I'm not sure why anyone thinks it's the way to go.

People who get piercings are normal. They wanted to be treated with respect just like everyone else. Just because they get a facial piercing, doesn't give everyone else the right to talk crap about them. Its their body, not yours. Just like tattoos. Both express individualism. If we can't discriminate against the color of someones skin, then why do people discriminate against the colors people put on their skin. I'm all for body modification. And for those of you who aren't, just remember, no one should dictate to me what i can and cannot do to my body. I suggest you all watch a movie called Modify.

Just because someone looks different it doesn't mean they lose the right to be treated like anyone else. That's like saying everybody has to look the same to be treated like 'normal'. And anyway, that is normal to them so why shouldn't they be treated that way.

Ummm i dont think their thinking 'i want to be different'. I have an eyebrow piercing but i have it because i like it. No other reason. And so that you know, IM normal! THATS y i want to be trated normal. Or shall i say with respect.
Your making out that these people(including myself) are aliens or something. If people have a complex its only cos they have issues, nothing to do with the piercing.
Its a bit of a genralization dont you think? And i would like to ask you to define normal? I say, wear, dress and dye your hair whatever you hell like! be true to ones self!

actually, piercing has been around for many many ages. it's a culture. many ethnic groups from all over the world practice it. i don't know other meanings of it but generally it's an accessory, like any other jewelry.
in your world, people with piercing look different because they are only few. try living in a tribe where everyone has it. for sure you'll look different.
