Our company is giving an award for the "Person who shows the most capability and potential to succeed" named after an employee who committed suicide last year!

Obviously the "Great work on the thinking that one through front" Award goes to our senior management team.

I remember we had one award once that was just so specific that only one person could have ever won it. It was something like "Best Branch Manager of the South West Region managing 5 or more staff who takes their holidays in Brazil". Or something like that anyway. I remember we were all really fed up with it!

how tragic an award! a constant reminder of your fallen co-worker! :(

we have an award called "the gold star program" in which people are recognized for being mundane.

it's a "quality recognition" award given to people who notice quality issues and are proactive about resolving them. the prize is a $10 gift card to starbucks or a $10 coupon pack for mc donalds.

people are being rewarded for simply doing the things they normally do: my machine broke down so i called line maintenance...this product didn't process correctly, so i am setting it aside for evaluation...my machine needed a particle check, so i performed a particle check.

i hope i never get a "gold star award". it's a big joke!
