i'm a laptop user now. when i was home more often, i preffered a CRT. I'm a hard core gamer. After gaming on a laptop, out of necessity (it's a pain to lug around a 17 inch monitor!) I can't tell the difference. Go with what you like. My only complaint with an LCD is you have to be sitting right in front of it to see the image right, too much of an angle is no good.

Go with LCD all the way, but, don't cheap out or get the wrong one. If you are going for dirt cheap, yes, CRTs are better; however, If you're willing to spend $300-$400, you might as well get an LCD. I have an LG 20.1" widescreen LCD with a 1400:1 contrast ratio and a supported resolution of 1680x1050 (Also known as Extreme HD) and a refresh rate of 2 or 4ms. It's the most amazing monitor I have ever seen.

CRT, hands down. LCD's have problems with re-draw rates compared to CRTs. If you want to use an LCD for gaming, look for one with a refresh rate of 8ms or less for the best performance.

Also, if a game operates in any resolution other than the LCD's native resolution you'll get LOTS of jaggies and pixelization.

First, the CRT ought to have with techniques from a techniques the perfect assessment (crispness) resolutions, yet that assessment comes on the cost of the burden, power criteria and area of the CRT. lcd even as lacking to CRT compared does a honest pastime in case you search for ratios of a minimum of 1000 to at least a million, more advantageous is more advantageous suited in case you opt for to ensure interior the area on a on-line recreation. you could also tinker with the settings and get the blacks to be blacker this is what you opt for for sharper image. So even as determining to purchase the lcd search for top assessment ratios. yet CRTs are a thanks to bypass for computer sharpness.
