Does anyone know what type of store in which I can find those small novelty packs of "reindeer food" that is sold for children to leave for "Rudolph" around Christmas time? Please no sarcastic answers or lectures about religion - my child wants to do something sweet and feed the reindeer as well as leave milk and cookies for Santa.

Magic Reindeer Food: Stocking Stuffer Gift
(by Cynthia Townley Ewer)

Many families leave cookies and milk for Santa, but what about his reindeer? Magic Reindeer Food lays a glittering path to guide the reindeer on Christmas Eve.

[Note: while many recipes for Magic Reindeer Food call for craft glitter, this ingredient can harm birds or wildlife if ingested. Substitute colored sugar crystals and be kind to animals!]
In a small zipper food storage bag or empty shaker container, mix:

1/2 cup uncooked oatmeal
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup red or green sugar crystals (for cake decorating)

Be sure to take this magic food and sprinkle on the lawn,
On Christmas, Santa's reindeer travel miles before the dawn.
The smell of oats and glitter path will guide them on their way
And you'll wake up to Santa's gifts next morn on Christmas Day!

it works! I placed some out final 365 days. Santa delivered me each element i wanted and greater. He made all my wildest desires come actual. i'm hoping you purchased the reindeer food and placed across the little reindeer on your backyard so as which you have each thing you ever needed and then some.

Where I live they are called farm stores or feed stores. Look in the phone book to see if you have a TSC (Tractor Supply Company). Otherwise, like another poster said, check out Pet Smart or Pet Co. And you know something, also check in Wal-Marts pet department. They have all kinds of feed for birds, etc. I think I say a deer block in the sports department that hunters would use. Good luck.

We don't have that here - but you could always leave carrots for the reindeer. A friend of mine used to do that.

The oats idea is good, too. You could also use food colouring to make it rainbow coloured and therefore more magical!

Target, K - mart, Wal - Mart, Mejiers, might have what you are looking for. suggest using the telephone rather than going around to all the stores.

We use oatmeal and confetti, the kind that is shiny. Tell them that is can reflect light from Rudolph's nose to see our house.

We make our own. I don't know how much you need, but a cup of Quaker oats, sprinkle with favorite colored glitter. Shake it up. Walla!

How about you put oats, m+ms, raisins, and glitter in a bowl and leave it outside? I do it and Dasher loves it!
