It depends on, how loud you have the volume set on your ipod, and, how loud/hard/ferociuos your fart is. I've farted while wearing listening to my ipod and I knew the damn thing was deadly.

I guess it depends on how fast people turn and look at you. If they turn right away, they heard it. If they turn after 10 seconds or so, they didn't hear it, but they noticed!
