You can do it in Bios on start up or right-click on your desktop and go to Properties--->Screen Saver--->Power and configure it there.

Go into the Control Panel and click on the Power Options icon.
Look under Advanced and you will see a place where you can tell it what to do when you press the "sleep" button (set it to "do nothing" to turn it off).

Power button i believe some keyboards have a key that is linked to the pc power.

you need to find the specific driver for your key board and once that is done . go to start all programs ( now somewhere in the list ) you will find something about your hard drive . you will find a link to keyboard short cut setup , just click and follow the instructions

Open control panel-- open power option-- click on advane tab
Now select on last listbox(When I press sleep key) "Do nothing"
