No it is not true.

The term "most cabling" does not trully apply to what you are saying.

Most cabling will give off some amount of Electro Magnetic energy (EMI) but that does not mean that there will be interference (crosstalk) with one another cable.

Some cables are susceptable but those are normally protected by shielding to prevent/minimize the electromagnetic interference (EMI). A case in point is your printer cable. It has to be shielded to prevent EMI from affecting your electronic devices.

If in fact there was a major problem with "crosstalk" in you pc many of the cables would be shielded. IDE cables are not. Power supply cables are not. Fans, leds, etc. all are not.

Hope this helps.

Crosstalk is when two cable cross over each other and the signal in one cable interferes with the signal in the other cable. I will leave it to you to decide if that sounds like a potential problem.

I've been troubleshooting computers for many years. I only saw a cross cable problem once, but I was pretty sure that it was a problem contributor, not the whole problem.
Computers are tight places, and there isn't a lot of room to separate cables. If you try to move things around, you may accidently unplug something.
If you are not sure about the innards of the computer, then ask a friend that knows computers to take a look.

Unless you have some complicated architecure going on, crosstalk should not be a problem for you. What is your problem exactly?
